GrandBirr Market ("GrandBirr", "we", "us") operates a mobile marketplace app connecting customers, sellers, and delivery drivers. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it's handled.

1. Information we collect

2. How we use this information

To create and secure your account and authenticate you
To operate the marketplace: list products, process orders, coordinate delivery, and pay out seller earnings
To send order, delivery, and account notifications (push notifications), and optional marketing notifications about deals and new arrivals, which you can turn off anytime in Settings
To detect fraud, abuse, and to keep the platform secure (including Firebase App Check device attestation)
To improve the app via aggregated analytics
To comply with legal and financial recordkeeping obligations

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that run the app on our behalf, and only as needed:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, App Check, Cloud Functions) — our core backend infrastructure
Chapa — our licensed Ethiopian payment processor, for handling payments
Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple — only if you choose to log in with those providers
Other users, where necessary for the transaction: e.g. a driver sees a customer's delivery address; a customer sees a seller's store name
Law enforcement or regulators, if legally required

4. Data retention

We keep account and transaction data for as long as your account is active and as needed to satisfy tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 6).

5. Permissions this app requests

Camera — to photograph or film products for listings
Microphone — to record audio when you film a product showcase video
Photo library — to attach existing photos/videos to listings and save media you download
Location — to suggest your city/region, and for delivery routing (drivers)
Notifications — to alert you about orders, deliveries, and account activity

All permissions are optional at the OS level and can be revoked anytime in your device Settings, though some features won't work without them.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and withdraw consent for optional data (like location), by contacting us at the email below. Sellers should note that deleting bank payout details will pause payouts until updated.

7. Children

GrandBirr Market is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
